Why GKTs Can Be Difficult

Why GKTs Can Be DifficultGKTs can be difficult for students, but GKTs are one of the best ways to earn college credit. Students need to plan the topics they want to write for GKTs well in advance to ensure that they are completing topics that make sense and do not bore their readers. Many students find it difficult to make the topics of their GKTs seem interesting to their readers. Some students find it easy to come up with topics because they know something about a topic. Most college students lack this knowledge, so students should plan their GKTs to give their readers' ideas about the topic. When students write their topics for GKTs, they should think about whether or not it would be a good idea to give their readers any 'in depth' information about the topic. In other words, do they have any information that would allow readers to know the purpose of the essay? If not, then they should focus on topics that are easy to answer. For example, if students write their topics as explanatio ns of key points, they should find ways to answer the key points. They should ask themselves questions like, 'What are the main points of this essay?' 'How can I explain these points?' 'What types of things could I talk about that would support this argument?'If students are struggling to come up with good topics for their GKTs, they should consider brainstorming on ways to justify the main points in their GKT's. For example, they could discuss what might be wrong with the opposing view point. This could be done by showing why it is true or wrong.Instead of asking themselves, 'Why is it wrong?' they should suggest another answer for the topic. One way to do this is to come up with a counterargument for the opposing viewpoint.By coming up with another explanation for the topic, students can show that they have thought of all the possible problems with the opposing viewpoint. However, if they do not address the main points, it may seem that they have ignored them. Therefore, if studen ts do not have a good counter argument for the opposing viewpoint, they should make sure that they address the main points of the GKTs.They should also make sure that they research the topic before writing the GKTs. They should read books and articles about the topic and look up the information on the internet. They should also consult experts and professors before writing the GKTs.
